“I have worked out with various trainers at various gyms at different stages of my life.  It is quite simply the truth that my workouts with Rich have been the most inspiring, results yielding and challenging, while being mindful about safety.

I had not worked out for several years because I had a back injury that left me very concerned about reinjuring myself.m. My husband started working out with Rich a year before I had. He came home after every workout feeling stronger with an increasing determination to reach his long-term fitness goals. He could not believe how much farther his workouts went with the motivation Rich offered. 

I finally decided it was time to take my out-of-shape self to the track to try a workout with Rich. Needless to say, I was concerned about embarrassing myself, which, ultimately- I did. It was a shorter workout with the purpose of assessing my fitness level. It was not long into the endurance portion that I felt short of breath, a bit dizzy and nauseous. Rich could immediately see I was struggling and quickly shifted gears to slow things down and just walk me around the track to recover.  I was terribly embarrassed and frustrated. In truth- I walked home a bit choked up. I was disappointed in myself and questioned how I could ever return. 

After a brief pity party, I noticed Rich had sent a text to check in on how I was feeling. First sign this guy is a great trainer. He didn’t write me off, instead he was genuinely concerned. I responded that I was ok, and though slightly traumatized, I was not giving up.   Happily, neither was he. 

It is now the beginning of my 8th month with Rich, and I feel so much stronger. I have more work to do, for sure, but Rich has proven to me that I can do it. There are occasional setbacks- a tweak here and there, but Rich listens with laser focus to what I say, and how my body is reacting. He is always ready to revise a workout to “maintain the gains” while being sure to avoid injury. His positive spirit is infectious and his belief in his trainee’s soon becomes a belief of their own. 

He gently checks in about eating habits without being intrusive or making you feel guilty. He often has meal suggestions and always focuses on the positives of healthy eating rather than reminding you of all the bad outcomes of poor eating habits. Food chats focus on energy, digestion and recovery. He offers stretching advice for at home recovery between workouts too. 

His mood is always bright, joyous and energized which you cannot help but quickly absorb.  As a teacher, I greatly appreciate how much he celebrates even the tiniest of improvements, because he believes it himself and he understands this is empowering and motivates to keep pushing. 

My husband and I both start the day, with Rich, at the crack of dawn, an awesome way to head out into the world. 

We are both very excited to see how far we can physically push ourselves to get into the best shape possible. Thanks, Rich!”
